How to Prepare for an AC Installation

If you are looking forward to installing a new AC system in your home, you may be wondering what you can do ahead of the appointment to prepare both your home and your family. The good news is that we have some tips that will help you get ready for your air conditioning installation in Lake Butler.

If you have any questions after reading through the tips, just give us a call and we would be happy to help. After all, we appreciate any steps you can take to aid our team and make the installation process as easy as possible for both you and us.

Clear Your Schedule

Your first step is to clear your schedule for the day of installation. If you are able to work from home, great, and if not, we encourage you to take the day off and hang out around the house while we are completing the project. This helps us because we may need to access different areas of your home to test vents or have questions that come up as we are working.

Sometimes we make discoveries that mean we have to do extra work or make adjustments to our installment plan. We want to be sure to maximize the AC installation process to meet your expectations. With you being present, this process can be expedited.

Create Space

It’s also a good idea to move items out of the way where our team will be working. Sometimes this means shifting furniture temporarily so that it doesn’t get in the way of us removing your old unit and replacing it with the newer model.

This is something we can talk to you about when we complete your in-home assessment for the installation project. We can point out anything that we think it would be beneficial to move so that our team doesn’t have to try working around furniture or other valuables.

If you’re worried about an air conditioner taking up too much space, it might be preferable to invest in a ductless unit that can be mounted on the walls or ceilings so you can maximize floor space.

Make a Plan for Kids and Pets

We also encourage you to make plans ahead of time for your children and pets. You have a couple of different options here. You can either make plans for them to visit a friend or family member for the day, or you can dedicate some space in another room for them to be in while the installation is being done.

We know that children and pets can be very curious and intrigued by our tools in the work we are doing. But the bottom line is, AC installation is not for kids or pets. We are certified technicians with the experience to complete the job safely and we don’t want there to be any unnecessary risks.
